Tools on Your Phone

Use your tools right from your phone

Save the metronome, tuner, pitch pipe, and timers to your phone or tablet home screen and open them with a single tap, just like a regular app.

Turn your favorite tools into one-tap apps

Some MusEdLab tools are ones you reach for constantly during rehearsal. Instead of opening a browser and finding them each time, you can save them straight to your home screen. Each one gets its own icon and opens instantly, so the metronome or tuner is always a single tap away, even mid-rehearsal.

Great tools to save this way: Metronome, Pitch Pipe, Tuner, and Practice Timer. Add each one on its own and it becomes a separate app icon on your home screen.

On iPhone and iPad

Use Safari for these steps.

1
Open the tool you want to save in Safari. For example, go to the Metronome.
2
Tap the Share button. It is the square with an arrow pointing up, found at the bottom of the screen on iPhone or the top right on iPad.
3
Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
4
Keep the suggested name or type your own, then tap Add.
5
That's it. The tool now has its own icon on your home screen. Repeat for each tool you want.

The Add to Home Screen option only appears in Safari. It is not available in Chrome or other browsers on iPhone and iPad.

On Android

Use Chrome for these steps.

1
Open the tool you want to save in Chrome.
2
Tap the three-dot menu in the top right corner.
3
Tap Add to Home screen, then confirm.
4
Done. The tool now has its own icon, ready with one tap. Repeat for each tool.

Keep your whole toolkit together

Want all four tools handy at once? Add them one at a time so each gets its own icon, then drag them together into a folder named something like MusEdLab or Rehearsal. Now your entire quick-tools kit lives in one spot on your home screen, wherever you happen to be teaching.

Good to know

๐Ÿ”

Save each tool from its own page. A saved icon points to whatever tool you had open at the time, so repeat the steps once for every tool you want on your home screen.

When you tap a saved icon, it opens straight to that tool, ready to use. No menus, no searching.
